“The Argentinian paranormal horror flick, the first of its kind for that country, is a tremendous amount of terror and fun”
Andrew Mack, SCREEN ANARCHY“A great technical feat enough to put this genre film at the top of the heap in Argentina's repertoire”
Emiliano Basile, ESCRIBIENDOCINEThe lives of three neighbours in Argentina are turned upside down following a series of violent deaths in the area. For retiring inspector Funes, what was supposed to be an easy case suddenly takes a strange turn and he finds himself dealing with more than he can handle. Paranormal experts are brought in to assist in investigating what they believe to be haunted houses, where they will be tested by an evil the likes of which they have never encountered. As the night goes on and chaos is unleashed upon them, nothing, and no one, can be trusted.
Maximiliano Ghione plays Funes, a flawed and vulnerable character, and carries the dramatic weight of
TERRIFIED with brilliance, all the while providing some well-needed relief from the overwhelming terror of the film. Director Demian Rugna expertly plays on the fears that irrationally consume us, as every nook and cranny in a dark room become dangerous, every shadow threatening, every noise menacing. If you’ve ever feared at the monster below your bed, wondered at flickering shadows and imagined what may be behind the sounds you thought you could hear at night, this film is your nightmare come to life.
TERRIFIED starts with a bloody bang and never lets go. It brings pure, raw, intense horror that makes your entire body ache with fear and adrenaline. Rugna has mastered the genre and switches from dead-on violent horror to creeping dread with ease. If you’re looking for an all-around outstanding picture to scare you out of your mind, then you found exactly what you’re looking for.
