“An unabashedly punk slasher throwback”
Justin Yandell, BLOODY DISGUSTING

"Hits the sweet spot... a movie that's got something on its mind aside from the genre itself but still manages to be bloody and entertaining before everything else”
Jay Seaver, EFILMCRITIC

The squats, natural habitat of music bands, misfits… and punks. Amid that mix is Chelsea, a pretty young girl with troubled childhood memories and a bag full of dope. From the NYC underground scene to a remote cabin in a national park, Chelsea and her gang of patched and pierced pals are on the run. Unbeknownst to them, the cops they’re hiding from are nothing compared to the local authority that awaits them in the woods, natural habitat of wolves, bears – and rangers.

Producer on ABCS OF DEATH 2 and partner in crime to Larry Fessenden, Jenn Wexler is a name you ought to know. With her fierce debut feature THE RANGER, this little punk chick of genre flicks has grown to a full-on big badass she-wolf of gore. She plays with traditional slasher rules like a cat with a dead mouse, setting in motion a demented game of survival, one only true horror fans will appreciate. With sly humour, wit, charm and a punk soundtrack to literally die for, THE RANGER’s grindhouse vibes and loud colours will stick in your mind like gum in your blue hair. Just when you think you know the story by heart, Wexler brings an incredibly creative twist and leaves you wondering who, the punk or the ranger, the wolf really is. In the wilderness, one of these two species will become extinct. Our leading lady is no Little Red Riding Hood and this ranger is no Smokey Bear. Get ready to howl, kids. It’s hunting season. – Celia Pouzet
